The 5'-most start codon based on available transcript data is represented in this CCDS. It should be noted that a possible upstream start codon, which is moderately well-conserved, is present. The use of this upstream start codon would result in a protein that is 15 aa longer at the N-terminus. However, other than AK297891.1, which is a read-through transcript from the upstream ZNF576 locus, there are no human or homologous transcripts supporting extension to this upstream start codon. The 15 aa extension is therefore not included in this CCDS representation. |
