The aSK1 strain of L. interrogans is a high passage avirulent strain derived from the highly virulent strain SK1, belonging to the Copenhageni serovar.
More...The aSK1 strain of L. interrogans is a high passage avirulent strain derived from the highly virulent strain SK1, belonging to the Copenhageni serovar. The SK1 strain was originally isolated from a dog with severe leptospirosis from Basseterre, Saint Kitts. This is a project aimed at characterizing the genetic changes associated with virulence attenuation in this strain, conducted by Dr. Sree Rajeev, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in collaboration with INDICASAT AIP, Panama.
