Multidrug-resistance (MDR) is a global problem worldwide due to the uncontrolled drug usage according to the World Health Organization . The Enterobacteriaceae family includes Proteus species, which are Gram-negative, anaerobic, non-sporulated, and motile bacteria. Proteus mirabilis is one of the most prevalent from that species. P. mirabilis usually inhabits in the intestinal tract of humans and animals as normal flora, in soil, and wastewater environments. Nevertheless, this is opportunistic bacterial pathogen causing community-acquired and nosocomial infections, foodborne and urinary tract infections. In this study, we focused on wounds related to patients from one surgical department of Moscow hospital. We applied WGS to characterize multidrug-resistant P. mirabilis isolates of two clonal genetic lines obtained from the different patients of the same surgical department of Moscow medical center. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report describing comprehensive characteristics of more than one clone within one hospital department
