Genome Information for Caenorhabditis elegans
200 wild strains of C. elegans from 58 collection locations on six continents.
More...200 wild strains of C. elegans from 58 collection locations on six continents. These strains cover virtually every known collection location. The samples were isolated from a variety of sources, including rotting fruits, compost, mushroom farms, soil, and snails. To characterize genomic variation among these strains, we examined restriction-site associated DNA (RAD)18 covering 8% of the 100 megabase genome.
