The fermentation broth of strain Bacillus lawsoniana Zhou Liu et al sp. nov. displayed the anti-microbial, termitecidal activities, and no repellent effect. by the morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics, molecular biology (G+C mol%, 16S rDNA sequence, gyrB subunit analysis and molecular hybridization) methods. The secondary fermentation metabolites of the tree endogenic functional strain were extracted and identified by GC-MS, which were the same as those in the host trees. The significant termiticide effects were observed. So the strain Bacillus lawsoniana Zhou Liu et al sp. nov. fermentation product may have great potential as natural biotermitecide. The continuous production of natural biotermitecide will open a new way on natural environmental protection.
