This project aims to generate high-quality complete genomes from a diverse set of Pseudomonas aeruginosa clinical isolates causing a variety of infections. Genome sequencing has become an affordable technology leading to the generation of massive amounts of genomic data for P. aeruginosa, however, the great majority of this information stays as "draft genomes" at the public databases, thus hiding fundamental information about the diversity of this pathogen. Our main goal is using a combination of long- and short-read sequencing technologies to generate finished genomes that can be used as references for the study of the P. aeruginosa genome evolution.
