Genome Information for Alligator sinensis
We chose the Chinese alligator for genome sequencing to reveal molecular evidence of its diving, sensory, and immune adaptations, to provide novel insights into sex chromosome evolution due to its temperature-dependent sex determination, and to help design scientific captive-breeding programs for population recovery project of this endangered species.
