Description: The library is from early (spring) secondary wood, taken from a ten year old tree in the transitional phase. The tree is a kind gift of the Westvaco Corporation. Secondary xylem was harvested from the tree by peeling back the bark and primary xylem and then removing the underlying tissue with a block plane. NOTE: The sequences contain a 'cDNA adapter' between the EcoRI site and the start of the EST. The adapter sequence is 'AATTCGGCACGAG'.
