Tuatara blood (2 ml) was acquired from Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) 982 000167713537 (Male, 500g, 245svl, 292vt, no tail regenerated, sampled Nov. 2011) Tuatara residing on Lady Alice Island, Hen and Chickens Islands, New Zealand, with support of local Iwi, Ngatiwai, and permits from the New Zealand Department of Conservation. We thank Clive Stone (Ngatiwai) cultural liaision for the Tuatara Genome Project and asisstance in obtaining the permissions needed to collect and ship Tuatara blood samples. We also thank Lindsay Michelson and Dr. Nicola Nelson (Victoria University of Wellington) who collected the blood sample under permits supplied by the Department of Conservation, New Zealand.
