Description

This strain is part of a comparative study evaluating E. coli clones isolated from the gut of hospitalized patients with strains causing urinary tract infection in one single center. The Escherichia coli strain SMG016F4a was isolated from a rectal swab from an inpatient with urinary tract infection. This sequence refers to clone F4a from the patient SMG016. The other clones isolated from the rectal swab of the same inpatient are SMG016F1, and SMG016F10.
