It should be noted in the dense body diagram that PAT-4/ILK is shown making contact with the cytoplasmic domain of the PAT-3 integrin subunit because this interaction has been reported for the vertebrate homologs. To date we have failed to observe this binding interaction in C. elegans, so the nature of any linkage between PAT-3 integrin and the complex of proteins that bind to PAT-4 remains to be elucidated Similarly, the potential interactions between PAT-3 integrin, CeTalin, alpha-actinin and DEB-1/vinculin are based upon the binding interactions demonstrated for the vertebrate homologs.
