Figure 9.Dramatic decreases in the cost per megabase (Mb) of sequenced DNA compared to the expectation predicted by Moore's law.

The semi-log plot shows a dramatic reduction in the cost per megabase of DNA sequenced from 2001-2011. Sequencing costs have fallen dramatically since 2007 due to competition from multiple vendors. Cost was calculated in January of each year.
