What is the Hold Until Published (HUP) policy for clinical submissions made through the web based variation batch submission form? Is it different from the dbSNP’s standard HUP policy?

The HUP policy for clinical submissions made through the web based variation batch submission form is indeed different from dbSNP’s standard HUP policy.

The web-based Variation Batch Submission form has a field where a user can specify “Yes” or “No” to the following statement: “Hold the Submission from Public Release”.

If the user selects “No” to the statement, the data will be released once it has been validated, loaded and processed.

If the user selects “Yes” to the statement, the data will be held and released after a period of 3 months.

If the user needs the hold period increased or shortened, they should contact the dbSNP submission group at vog.hin.mln.ibcn@bus-pns immediately after submitting their data. (04/08:09/09)
