Transcriptional responses of mouse bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMM) to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) - Illumina arrays

(Submitter supplied) These microarrays were performed for use in a genome-wide scan for LPS-regulated genes in mouse macrophages, in order to construct a list of LPS-regulated genes for detailed interrogation on custom microarrays (see GSE19490 for custom array analysis).

Neurological defects in CAIX knockout mice

(Submitter supplied) To further identify transcriptomic responses to CAIX deficiency in the brain, genome-wide cDNA microarray analyses were performed. Thirty-one and 37 genes were up- and down-regulated in the brain of Car9-/- mice as compared to wild-type mice. Functional annotation revealed that genes with increased expression are mainly involved in alternative splicing, nucleotide binding, RNA binding, and regulation of cellular protein metabolic process; whereas genes with reduced expression are chiefly implicated in cellular cation homeostasis, positive regulation of ion transport, Ubl conjugation, phosphorus metabolic process, and regulation of cell proliferation. more...

Rnf41 is associated with anxiety like behavior, major depression and beta carboline induced seizure

(Submitter supplied) The molecular etiology of invididual differences in complex behavior traits and susceptibility to psychiatric illness remains incomplete. Using an unbiased genetic approach in a mouse model, Quantitative Trait Loci (QTL) influencing anxiety-like behaviors and beta-carboline-induced seizure vulnerability have been mapped to the distal portion of mouse chromosome 10 and an interval specific congenic strain (ISCS; A.B6chr10; 66 cM to telomere) was developed. more...

Comparison of Hybridization-based and Sequencing-based Gene Expression Technologies on Biological Replicates

(Submitter supplied) High-throughput systems for gene expression profiling have been developed and matured rapidly through the past decade. Broadly, these can be divided into two categories: hybridization-based and sequencing-based approaches. With data from different technologies being accumulated, concerns and challenges are raised regarding data comparability and agreement across technologies. Within an ongoing large-scale cross-platform data comparison framework, we report here a comparison based on identical samples between one-dye DNA microarray platforms and MPSS (Massively Parallel Signature Sequencing). more...
