The use of gene expression microarrays in environmental studies can potentially meet this challenge. We present a novel method to examine soil toxicity. Protocol: 60-mer oligo probes were designed from Collembase EST contigs, using OligoArray v2.0 and synthesized in situ by an ink-jet printing (Agilent) method on glass slides.
