(Submitter supplied) Precise regulation of stem cell activity is crucial for tissue homeostasis. In Drosophila, intestinal stem cells (ISCs) maintain the midgut epithelium and respond to oxidative challenges by increasing proliferation rates. However, the connection between intestinal homeostasis and redox signaling remains obscure.
