The multifaceted RisA regulon of Bordetella pertussis

(Submitter supplied) Bordetella pertussis, the etiological agent of whooping cough, regulates the expression of its virulence factors by the well-defined BvgA/S two-component regulatory system. Phosphorylated BvgA activates the virulence activated genes (vags) and represses via the activation of the bvgR gene the expression of the virulence repressed genes (vrgs). Bordetella pertussis Whole genome array

(Submitter supplied) Long oligonucleotide probes were designed on the sequences of the 3554 open reading frames (all coding CDS except transposases of IS elements) of B. pertussis Tohama I genome using OligoArray v2.1 [1]. Oligonucleotides were synthesized by Sigma-Aldrich and spotted on duplicat on Nexterion AL slides (Schott Nexterion) in 1x SciSpot-AM buffer (Scienion) using a Q-Array II spotter (Genetix).
