Stress response of Saccharomyces cerevisiae to exposure to natural product Azinomycin B.

(Submitter supplied) Stress responses to DNA damaging agents show characteristic responses. The effect of Azinomycin B upon cultured yeast cells in growth conditions appears to be significant. We used microarrays to detail the global programme of gene expression induced in the stress response to Azinomycin B. Keywords: stress response

Antitumor agent azinomycin B cellular effect: dose response

Analysis of cells following treatment with 10 or 100 ug/ml of azinomycin B, a naturally occurring antitumor agent that forms interstrand crosslinks within the major groove of DNA. Results indicate that azinomycin B alters the expression of genes associated with DNA damage and repair.
