A combined epigenome- and transcriptome-wide association study of the oral masticatory mucosa assigns CYP1B1 a central role for epithelial health in smokers

(Submitter supplied) Healthy ex vivo biopsies from masticatory mucosa from 17 current and 21 never smokers were analysed using whole transcriptome RNA sequencing (16 mio reads/sample), showing significantly increased expression of CYP1B1 in smokers compared to non-smokers (p = 2.2 × 10−14), together with 13 significantly upregulated transcripts. Six transcripts were significantly downregulated.

Continuous Aging of the Human DNA Methylome Throughout the Human Lifespan

(Submitter supplied) DNA methylation plays an important role in development of disease and the process of aging. In this study we examine DNA methylation at 476,366 sites throughout the genome of white blood cells from a population cohort (N = 421) ranging in age from 14 to 94 years old. Genome-wide DNA methylation analysis of psoriatic and normal skin tissues

(Submitter supplied) Genome wide DNA methylation profiling of psoriatic (PP), paired uninvolved psoriatic (PN) and normal skin tissues (NN). The Illumina Infinium 450k Human DNA methylation Beadchip v1.2 was used to obtain DNA methylation profiles across approximately 485,000 CpGs in 135 PP, 41PN and 62 NN tissues which were obtained from those who underwent skin biospsies. We not only revealed a genome-wide methylation level pattern for psoriasis, but also identified a strong association between the skin-specific DNAm of 9 DMS and psoriasis.
