Genome-wide identification and comparison of mRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs in porcine intramuscular, subcutaneous, retroperitoneal, and mesenteric adipose tissues

(Submitter supplied) Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs), which were proved to play a crucial role in regulating cell differentiation and tissue development. However, the expression profiles of different RNAs, such as mRNA, lncRNAs, and circRNAs in different adipose tissues, are still largely unclear. To shed light on this issue, we performed the systematic analysis of mRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs obtained from intramuscular adipose tissues (IAT), subcutaneous adipose tissues (SAT), visceral adipose tissues (RPAT), and mesenteric adipose tissues (MAT) tissues of Chinese Erhualian pigs using high-throughput sequencing. more...

Genome-wide analysis of differentially expressed profiles of mRNAs, lncRNAs and circRNAs in Cryptosporidium baileyi infection

(Submitter supplied) Background: Cryptosporidium baileyi is the most common Cryptosporidium species in birds. However, effective prevention measures and treatment for C. baileyi infection were less understood. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and circular RNA (circRNA) were discovered to play an important role in regulating occurrence and progression of many diseases and identified as effective biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of several diseases. more...

Transcriptome analysis of mRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs during the differentiation of porcine subcutaneous preadipocytes

(Submitter supplied) Subcutaneous preadipocyte differentiation play a critical role in fat deposition of pigs. However, the action of different RNAs in subcutaneous preadipocyte differentiation, such as messenger RNAs (mRNAs), long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs), and circular RNAs (circRNAs), are still largely unclear. In the present study, a transcriptome analysis including mRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs was performed in different stages of D0, D2, D4, and D8 using RNA-seq technology. more...

Systematic identification and comparison of expressed profiles of lncRNAs and circRNAs in male and female germline stem cells

(Submitter supplied) Male and female germline stem cells are critical for passing genetic information from generation to generation. Accumulating evidences indicate that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs) play important roles in self-renewal and differentiation of germline stem cells. However, the mechanisms remain largely unknown. In this study, we explored the mRNAs, lncRNAs and circRNAs expression profiles of male and female germline stem cells through high-throughput sequencing.

RNA sequencing of human periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) with Illumina HiSeq2000

(Submitter supplied) To study the molecular mechanisms underlying PDLSC osteogenic differentiation, we developed RNA sequencing with Illumina HiSeq2000 to comprehensively identify RNA expression profiles in normal PDLSCs, osteogenic inductive PDLSCs and mechanical force-induced PDLSCs. Plenty of RNAs were found to be differentially expressed by RNA sequencing. Furthermore, the potential functions of these RNAs were investigated using bioinformatic analysis.

Comprehensive analysis of lncRNAs and circRNAs reflects the functional specialization in oxidative and glycolytic skeletal muscles

(Submitter supplied) The biochemical and functional differences between oxidative and glycolytic muscles affect human muscle health and animal meat quality, but the epigenetic regulation with respect to lncRNAs and circRNAs remains largely unknown. Here, we employed porcine oxidative and glycolytic skeletal muscles, at growth curve inflection point, to survey variant global lncRNAs and circRNAs expression using RNA-seq. more...

RNA-sequencing of epicardial adipose tissue of patients with atrial fibrillation

(Submitter supplied) Accumulating studies have suggested that epicardial adipose tissue play an important role in the pathogenesis of atrial fibrillation (AF), but few have characterized the underlying mechanism between their interactions. Recent evidence suggested that bioactive molecules secreted from EAT, including exosomes carrying non-coding RNAs, may modulate atrial remodeling. The aim of the present study was to investigate the expression profile of mRNAs and ncRNAs in EAT with AF.

Expression data from childhood obesity

(Submitter supplied) In the past few decades, the prevalence of overweight and obesity has sharply increased in children and adolescents. Childhood obesity life are associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, sleep disturbances and certain cancers in adulthood. Childhood obesity has become a serious global public health challenge. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have an important role in adipose tissue function and energy metabolism homeostasis, and abnormalities may lead to obesity. more...

Transcriptome analysis of the mRNAs and lncRNAs in porcine alveolar macrophages in response to porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus or IFN-a at different time points

(Submitter supplied) Purpose:We performed next-generation RNA sequencing and a comprehensive bioinformatics analyses to characterize the transcriptome landscapes, including mRNAs and long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in PRRSV-infected PAMs or IFN-stimulated PAMs at different time points. Conclusions: We showed that PRRSV infection displays different transcriptome profiles of PAMs, and the aberrant function of PAMs may be reflected by significant down-regulation of essential genes at the transcriptome levels. more...

Identified differentially expressed lncRNAs in Type 1 Diabetes Patients

(Submitter supplied) Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) is already evidently involved in a variety of biological functions and pathophysiological mechanisms underlying the diabetes. However, the role of lncRNAs in the type 1 diabetes (T1D) has not been explored clearly yet.
