Expression of OsTPX Gene Improves Cellular Redox Homeostasis and Photosynthesis Efficiency in Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942

(Submitter supplied) The goals of this study are to compare hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) stress tolerance through gene expression of wild type (WT) and OsTPX-expressing Synechoccous elongatus PCC 7942 (OT) under the normal and stress condition.

Transcriptome analysis of Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942 for nitrogen starvation response using RNA sequencing

(Submitter supplied) We reported transcriptome analysis of S. elongatus PCC 7942 for nitrogen starvation response by performing RNA-sequencing. As a result, we identified differentially express genes and confirmed physiological response changes for up or down regulation genes. among differentially expressed genes (p value < 0.01) during N starvation

RNA-Seq analysis and targeted mutagenesis for improved free fatty acid production in an engineered cyanobacterium

(Submitter supplied) Background: High-energy-density biofuels are typically derived from the fatty acid biosynthesis pathway, thus establishing free fatty acids (FFAs) as important fuel precursors. FFA production using photosynthetic microorganisms like cyanobacteria allows for direct conversion of carbon dioxide into fuel precursors. Recent studies investigating cyanobacterial FFA production have demonstrated the potential of this process, yet FFA production was also shown to have negative physiological effects on the cyanobacterial host, ultimately limiting high yields of FFAs. more...
