Evaluation of immunostimulating effects of mineral heat ware in pig

(Submitter supplied) Thermal condition is an important envrionment factor to produce healthy pig. A mineral heat ware, RAVI is a regenerative far-infrared heating system. The purpose of this sutyd was to evaluate immunostimulating effects in pigs when RAVI was applied to maintain thermal condition compared with gasoline heater.

Transcriptome analysis of porcine PMBCs after stimulation by LPS or PMA/ionomycin using SLA-RI/NRSP8-13K chip

(Submitter supplied) Background: During the past 25 years, selection of production traits highly increased pig production but diseases have emerged that may cause economic loss of extreme importance. Designing sustainable animal production that better balances productivity with resistance to disease is a major concern and challenge for the next decade. In order to address questions related to immunity and resistance to disease, it is necessary to increase knowledge on the pig immune system and to produce efficient tools dedicated to this species. more...

Effect of selection on residual feed intake and diet on gene expression in whole blood of pig

(Submitter supplied) Transcriptional profiling in the whole blood of 48 pigs (132 days of age) originated from two lines divergently selected for residual feed intake (RFI) : low-RFI pigs (RFIneg), high-RFI pigs (RFIpl). Both lines were offered isocaloric and isoproteic diets with contrasted energy source and nutrients: low fat, low fiber (LF) diet or a high fat, high fiber (HF)diet during 10 weeks. Effects of RFI selection, diet and interaction between diet and line were investigated.
