Expression profile and potential functions of circulating long noncoding RNAs in acute ischemic stroke in the Southern Chinese Han population

(Submitter supplied) Background: Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been confirmed to be associated with ischemic stroke (IS); however, their involvement still needs to be extensively explored. Therefore, we aimed to study the expression profile of lncRNAs and the potential roles and mechanisms of lncRNAs in the pathogenesis of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) in the Southern Chinese Han population. Methods: lncRNA and mRNA expression profiles in AIS were analyzed using high-throughput RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) and validated using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). more...

circRNA, lncRNA and mRNA profiles of umbilical cord blood exosomes from preterm newborns showing bronchopulmonary

(Submitter supplied) Purpose: The purpose of this study was to detect the expression profiles of circRNAs, lncRNAs and mRNAs in umbilical cord blood (UCB) exosomes from BPD infants. Methods:Microarray analysis was performed to compare the RNA profiles of UCB-derived exosomes from preterm newborn with and without BPD. Then, circRNA/lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA co-expression networks were built to determine their associations with BPD.Results:A total of 317 circRNAs, 104 lncRNAs, 135 mRNAs showed significant differential expression in UCB-derived exosomes from BPD preterm infants compared with the NBPD group. more...

Microarray Expression Analysis of Circular RNAs in papillary thyroid carcinoma.

(Submitter supplied) CircRNA deregulation could be a crucial event in thyroid carcinoma. To investigate circRNA signatures present in several papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) patients to complement our understanding of PTC pathogenesis. Using microarray technology, we screened the circRNA profiles in 3 pairs of PTC tumors and matching adjacent normal tissues. This study evaluated circRNAs expression profiles and their ability to serve as reliable biomarkers and new potential diagnostic and therapeutic targets for PTC

Expression profiling of circular RNA in the cumulus cells of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome

(Submitter supplied) Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common and heterogeneous endocrine disorder in women of reproductive age.Depending on different criteria and populations, the prevalence of PCOS ranges from 6 to 8% with the NIH criteria, and up to 20% with the Rotterdam criteria.Further, it accounts for approximately 75% of anovulatory infertility.Circular RNAs (circRNAs) mediate the posttranscriptional regulation of multiple genes by functioning as microRNA (miRNA) sponges. more...

circRNA expression pattern in the pathogenesis of aseptic lossening

(Submitter supplied) Increasing evidence has demonstrated that circular RNA exerts important function in the pathogenesis of some diseases. While, the contributions of circRNAs to aseptic lossening after total hip arthroplasty remain largely unknown. Our research is to explore the differently expressed circRNAs and elucidate complex regulated mechanism of circRNAs in aseptic lossening. The differently expressed circRNAs were identified by RNA sequencing analysis. more...

Profile of plasma exosome-derived circrnas from acute ischemic stroke patients compared with controls

(Submitter supplied) Stroke is one of the major causes of death and long-term disability, of which acute ischemic stroke (AIS) is the most common type. Although circRNA expression profiles of AIS patients have been reported to be significantly altered in blood and peripheral blood mononuclear cells, the role of exosome-contained circRNAs after AIS is still unknown. Plasma exosomes from ten AIS patients and ten controls were isolated, and through microarray and bioinformatics analysis, profile and putative function of circRNAs in the plasma exosomes were studied. more...
