Next Generation Sequencing analysis of the global expression profiling in bone marrow derived macrophages response to porcine circovirus type 2.

(Submitter supplied) To know the influences of PCV2 infection on macrophage phenotype, we examined the expression profiling of global genes in PCV2 infected-BMDMs by RNA-seq. The results revealed that expression of 369 genes were greater than twofold in PCV2 infected-BMDMs relative to their expression levels in control cells. Analysis of bacterial and macrophage transcripts in ISRE-positive and negative infected macrophages

A transcriptomic analysis of the effects of macrophage polarization and endotoxin tolerance on the response to Salmonella

(Submitter supplied) Salmonella is an intracellular pathogen causing significant morbidity and mortality. Its ability to grow inside macrophages is important to virulence, and is dependent on the activation state of the macrophages. Classically activated M1 macrophages are non-permissive for Salmonella growth, while alternatively activated M2 macrophages are permissive for Salmonella growth.
