The expression profiles of longissimus dorsi muscle from six Laiwu pigs (three with extremely high and three with extremely low intramuscular fat content).

(Submitter supplied) To understand the role of message RNA (mRNAs, lncRNAs and circRNAs) in regulation of intramuscular fat deposition, the expression profiles of longissimus dorsi muscle from six Laiwu pigs were sequenced based on rRNA-depleted library construction. We then performed gene expression profiling analysis using data obtained from RNA-seq.

Comprehensive identification of RNA transcripts and construction of RNA networks in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

(Submitter supplied) Here, we report a comprehensive analysis of dysregulated mRNAs, lncRNAs, miRNAs and circRNAs in peripheral blood of COPD patients with high-throughput RNA sequencing. We mapped about 50~80 million sequence reads per sample to the human genome. GSEA analysis showed that these dysregulated RNAs correlate with several critical biological processes such as RNA modification, and RNA metabolism. RT-qPCR (SYBR Green assays) with more clinical COPD samples were used for the validation of some dysregulated RNAs. more...

Genome-wide identification and comparison of mRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs in porcine intramuscular, subcutaneous, retroperitoneal, and mesenteric adipose tissues

(Submitter supplied) Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs), which were proved to play a crucial role in regulating cell differentiation and tissue development. However, the expression profiles of different RNAs, such as mRNA, lncRNAs, and circRNAs in different adipose tissues, are still largely unclear. To shed light on this issue, we performed the systematic analysis of mRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs obtained from intramuscular adipose tissues (IAT), subcutaneous adipose tissues (SAT), visceral adipose tissues (RPAT), and mesenteric adipose tissues (MAT) tissues of Chinese Erhualian pigs using high-throughput sequencing. more...

RNA sequencing of human periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) with Illumina HiSeq2000

(Submitter supplied) To study the molecular mechanisms underlying PDLSC osteogenic differentiation, we developed RNA sequencing with Illumina HiSeq2000 to comprehensively identify RNA expression profiles in normal PDLSCs, osteogenic inductive PDLSCs and mechanical force-induced PDLSCs. Plenty of RNAs were found to be differentially expressed by RNA sequencing. Furthermore, the potential functions of these RNAs were investigated using bioinformatic analysis.

Comprehensive analysis of lncRNAs and circRNAs reflects the functional specialization in oxidative and glycolytic skeletal muscles

(Submitter supplied) The biochemical and functional differences between oxidative and glycolytic muscles affect human muscle health and animal meat quality, but the epigenetic regulation with respect to lncRNAs and circRNAs remains largely unknown. Here, we employed porcine oxidative and glycolytic skeletal muscles, at growth curve inflection point, to survey variant global lncRNAs and circRNAs expression using RNA-seq. more...

Systematic identification and comparison of expressed profiles of lncRNAs and circRNAs in male and female germline stem cells

(Submitter supplied) Male and female germline stem cells are critical for passing genetic information from generation to generation. Accumulating evidences indicate that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs) play important roles in self-renewal and differentiation of germline stem cells. However, the mechanisms remain largely unknown. In this study, we explored the mRNAs, lncRNAs and circRNAs expression profiles of male and female germline stem cells through high-throughput sequencing.

Genome-wide analysis of differentially expressed profiles of mRNAs, lncRNAs and circRNAs in Cryptosporidium baileyi infection

(Submitter supplied) Background: Cryptosporidium baileyi is the most common Cryptosporidium species in birds. However, effective prevention measures and treatment for C. baileyi infection were less understood. Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and circular RNA (circRNA) were discovered to play an important role in regulating occurrence and progression of many diseases and identified as effective biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis of several diseases. more...

Genome-wide characterization of lncRNAs and mRNAs in muscles with differential meat quality

(Submitter supplied) Meat quality is one of the most important traits in pig production. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) has been involved in diverse biological processes such as muscle development through regulating gene expression. However, studies on lncRNAs lag behind and a comparatively small number of lncRNAs have been identified in pigs. Also, effects of lncRNAs on meat quality remains to be characterized. Here, we analyzed lncRNAs in longissimus thoracis (LT) and semitendinosus (ST) muscles, being different in meat quality, with RNA-sequencing technology. more...

Transcriptome analysis of mRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs during the differentiation of porcine subcutaneous preadipocytes

(Submitter supplied) Subcutaneous preadipocyte differentiation play a critical role in fat deposition of pigs. However, the action of different RNAs in subcutaneous preadipocyte differentiation, such as messenger RNAs (mRNAs), long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs), and circular RNAs (circRNAs), are still largely unclear. In the present study, a transcriptome analysis including mRNAs, lncRNAs, and circRNAs was performed in different stages of D0, D2, D4, and D8 using RNA-seq technology. more...

Identification of candidate genes and regulatory factors underlying intramuscular fat content through longissimus dorsi transcriptome analyses in heavy Iberian pigs

(Submitter supplied) One of the most important determinants of meat quality is the intramuscular fat content (IMF). The development of high-throughput techniques as RNA-seq allows identifying gene pathways and networks with a differential expression (DE) between groups of animals divergent for a particular trait. The Iberian pig is characterized by having an excellent meat quality and a high content of intramuscular fat. more...

Profiling and bioinformatics analyses reveal differential expression of circular RNA in tongue cancer revealed by high-throughput sequencing

(Submitter supplied) Circular RNAs (circRNA) are special non-coding RNAs. They are widely present, but with unknown functions. Recent studies have shown that many endogenous circRNAs have sponge function to absorb microRNAs. They can regulate target gene mRNA expression and play important roles in many biological processes. However, expression profile and function of circRNAs in human TSCC haven’t been reported. High-throughput sequencing was performed to identify and annotate from three TSCC tissues and adjacent tissues. more...

Microarray Expression Profiles and bioinformatics analysis of mRNAs, lncRNAs and circRNAs in the secondary temozolomide-resistant glioblastoma

(Submitter supplied) Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common and aggressive primary human brain tumor. Although comprehensive therapies combining radiotherapy and chemotherapy after surgery can prolong survival, the prognosis is still poor with a median survival of only 14.6 months. Chemoresistance is one of the major causes of relapse as well as poor survival in glioma patients. Therefore, novel strategies to overcome chemoresistance are desperately needed for improved treatment of human GBM. more...

Here, we established RNA-seq dataset for lncRNAs, circRNAs and mRNAs in plasma exosomes from 10 OS patients and 5 healthy donors. This database provides a significant resource for relevant researchers to excavate dysregulated lncRNAs, circRNAs and mRNAs of plasma exosomes in OS versus normal conditions.
