Src42A - Src oncogene at 42A
Enables non-membrane spanning protein tyrosine kinase activity. Involved in several processes, including dorsal closure, spreading of leading edge cells; imaginal disc morphogenesis; and regulation of signal transduction. Located in cytoplasm and plasma membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including adult head; epithelial furrow; ganglia; imaginal disc; and tract. Used to study colorectal cancer and intestinal cancer. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including colorectal cancer (multiple); ductal carcinoma in situ; prostate cancer; thrombocytopenia; and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Orthologous to several human genes including FRK (fyn related Src family tyrosine kinase). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Nov 2024]
