Zif - Zinc-finger protein
Enables DNA-binding transcription repressor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific and sequence-specific DNA binding activity. Involved in establishment or maintenance of neuroblast polarity; larval lymph gland hemopoiesis; and negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Located in nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including embryonic/larval midgut; ganglia; gonad; larval neurons; and somatic precursor cell. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Nov 2024]
