Pak3 - Pak3

Enables protein serine/threonine kinase activity and small GTPase binding activity. Involved in several processes, including border follicle cell migration; myoblast fusion; and positive regulation of synapse assembly. Located in cytoplasm and ruffle. Is expressed in antennal disc; embryonic dorsal epidermis; embryonic/larval lymph gland; embryonic/larval salivary gland; and fusion competent cell. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in breast cancer; ductal carcinoma in situ; non-syndromic X-linked intellectual disability 30; renal cell carcinoma; and schizophrenia. Orthologous to human PAK1 (p21 (RAC1) activated kinase 1); PAK2 (p21 (RAC1) activated kinase 2); and PAK3 (p21 (RAC1) activated kinase 3). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Nov 2024]
