Nf1 - Neurofibromin 1
Enables GTPase activator activity. Involved in several processes, including Ras protein signal transduction; determination of adult lifespan; and learning or memory. Is expressed in several structures, including adult brain; adult brain cell body rind; adult head; ganglia; and synaptic neuropil domain. Used to study attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; neurofibromatosis; neurofibromatosis 1; and sleep disorder. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including Watson syndrome; autistic disorder; hematologic cancer (multiple); neurofibromatosis 1 (multiple); and peripheral nervous system neoplasm (multiple).
