Ldh - Lactate dehydrogenase
Enables L-lactate dehydrogenase activity and alpha-ketoglutarate reductase activity. Involved in NADH metabolic process; lactate catabolic process; and pyruvate metabolic process. Located in cytoplasm. Is expressed in several structures, including adult heart; imaginal disc; mesoderm; muscle cell; and organism subdivision. Used to study disease of metabolism. Orthologous to several human genes including LDHA (lactate dehydrogenase A); LDHAL6A (lactate dehydrogenase A like 6A); and LDHB (lactate dehydrogenase B).
