RyR - Ryanodine receptor
Enables calcium channel activity. Involved in several processes, including heart contraction; regulation of hemocyte proliferation; and response to anesthetic. Predicted to be located in membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including adult brain; adult head; adult heart; larval muscle system; and muscle cell. Used to study alcohol use disorder. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia 1; congestive heart failure (multiple); hepatocellular carcinoma; intracranial vasospasm; and muscle tissue disease (multiple). Orthologous to human RYR1 (ryanodine receptor 1); RYR2 (ryanodine receptor 2); and RYR3 (ryanodine receptor 3). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Dec 2024]
