Acts upstream of or within several processes, including cellular response to leukemia inhibitory factor; positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II; and spermatid nucleus elongation. Located in cytoplasm and male germ cell nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including cerebral cortex; extraembryonic ectoderm; ovary; and pituitary gland. Used to study obesity.
