    Summary
Enables tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase activity. Involved in quinolinate biosynthetic process. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including carboxylic acid metabolic process; regulation of apoptotic process; and regulation of cytokine production. Located in smooth muscle contractile fiber and stereocilium bundle. Is expressed in cerebral cortex; corpus striatum; embryo; extraembryonic component; and hippocampus. Used to study pre-eclampsia. Orthologous to human IDO1 (indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Dec 2024]
    Expression
Biased expression in genital fat pad adult (RPKM 37.1), mammary gland adult (RPKM 7.7) and 2 other tissues See more

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
