    YrfF is orthologous to Salmonella intracellular growth attenuator protein IgaA (YrfF)(S.t.), and homologous to UmoB(P.m.) which upregulates flhDC in P. mirabilis. An mrcA nudE yrfF triple mutant exhibits phenotypes including mucoidy, heat sensitivity, growth defects, and resistance to phage or antibiotic drugs, whereas a single mrcA mutant does not .
