    RutR is also the global regulator of a pyrimidine metabolism regulon (Shimada, 2007). [More information is available at EcoGene: EG12301]. RutR regulates genes directly or indirectly involved in the complex pathway of pyrimidine metabolism and also plays a role in regulation of the genes for degradation of purines and genes for maintenance of pH homeostasis .
