    YhiD is a putative ATP dependent transporter of the MgtC family and may be involved in cell density-dependent acid resistance. yhiD, hdeD, or gadE mutants had reduced viability at high cell density (~108 CFU per mL) at pH 2.1 compared to wild-type .
