Using in vitro transcription kinetic experiments, we show that all three major transcriptional pauses in the thiC riboswitch are affected by NusA, a transcriptional factor known to stimulate hairpin-stabilized pauses

SuhB can be integrated into a Nus factor-, and optionally ribosomal protein S4-, containing antitermination complex halted at a ribosomal antitermination signal. Furthermore, SuhB specifically binds to the acidic repeat 2 domain of the multi-domain protein NusA, an interaction that may be involved in antitermination or posttranscriptional processes.
