    Summary
    High copy dksA suppresses mukB and TS growth and filamentation of a dnaK mutant. dksA is also a multicopy suppressor of dnaJ, grpE and prc. dksA transcription is alkali-inducible. The DksA protein binds directly to RNA polymerase, affecting transcript elongation and augmenting the effect of the alarmone ppGpp on transcription initiation .
