    1. Ras1 activity was restricted by the guanosine triphosphatase-activating protein Gap1, which was itself recruited to sites of Ras1-GTP and was essential to block untimely fusion attempts.

    2. Data indicate that sp-Erf2/zDHHC9 palmitoylates Ras proteins in a highly selective manner in the trans-Golgi compartment to facilitate PM targeting via the trans-Golgi network, a role that is most certainly critical for Ras-driven tumorigenesis.
