    What's a GeneRIF?
    1. Data demonstrate that Mst77F is required for the proper compaction of spermatid chromatin following the histone-to-protamine transition, and show that Mst77F is proteolytically processed during spermiogenesis, in a way remarkably similar to mammalian P2.
      Title: The Drosophila chromosomal protein Mst77F is processed to generate an essential component of mature sperm chromatin.
    2. An intrinsically unstructured domain in the C-terminus of Mst77F binds DNA via electrostatic interaction. This binding results in structural reorganization of the domain, which induces interaction with an N-terminal region of the protein.
