    What's a GeneRIF?
    1. We find that Kss1 also localizes to the sites of polarized growth and Bem3 interacts with Kss1 at the septin-ring assembly site. TD2 localization is largely mediated by its interaction with the polarisome component Epo1 via heterotypic coiled-coil interaction. This finding reveals a novel role for the polarisome in linking Bem3 to its functional target,Cdc42.

    2. Identify Epo1p as a novel and important component of the polarisome that promotes cortical endoplasmic reticulum tethering at sites of polarized growth in budding yeast.
      Title: A protein complex containing Epo1p anchors the cortical endoplasmic reticulum to the yeast bud tip.
    3. Study shows that a direct interaction between the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) protein Scs2 and the septin Shs1 creates the diffusion barrier in yeast. Barrier formation requires Epo1, a novel ER-associated subunit of the polarisome that interacts with Scs2 and Shs1, encoded by the ORF YMR124W.
