    An frsA mutant has increased cellular respiration on glucose; FrsA overexpression has increased fermentation rate on glucose. [More information is available at EcoGene: EG11091]. The FrsA protein was found to bind specifically to the unphosphorylated form of enzyme IIAGlc of the PEP-sugar phosphotransfer system and is suggested to aid IIAGlc in regulating the flux between respiration and fermentation pathways .
