    Summary
Enables small GTPase binding activity. Involved in negative regulation of BMP signaling pathway; negative regulation of synaptic assembly at neuromuscular junction; and positive regulation of receptor internalization. Located in early endosome; presynaptic membrane; and terminal bouton. Is expressed in several structures, including adult head; embryonic/larval midgut; embryonic/larval neuromuscular junction; ganglia; and larval muscle system. Used to study Troyer syndrome. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in Troyer syndrome. Orthologous to human SPART (spartin). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Dec 2024]
