TTC9A modulates the anxiety-related behaviors through modulation of estrogen action on the serotonergic system in the dorsal raphe nucleus.
Title: Tetratricopeptide repeat domain 9A modulates anxiety-like behavior in female mice.
Together with the observation that TTC9A is a direct ERalpha target gene, this study proposes that the fall and rise of TTC9A levels during lactation and involution is caused by the changes of ERalpha activity that is in turn regulated by the factors in the microenvironment.
Title: The local microenvironment instigates the regulation of mammary tetratricopeptide repeat domain 9A during lactation and involution through local regulation of the activity of estrogen receptor α.
Though the function of TTC9 is not yet clear, the susceptibility of its protein level to biological and chemical agents suggests that TTC9 is a biologically significant protein.
