    Summary
Enables G-protein activated inward rectifier potassium channel activity and voltage-gated monoatomic ion channel activity involved in regulation of presynaptic membrane potential. Acts upstream of or within thyroid hormone metabolic process. Is active in parallel fiber to Purkinje cell synapse; postsynapse; and presynaptic membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; brain; eye; genitourinary system; and skeleton. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in alcohol use disorder and heroin dependence. Orthologous to human KCNJ6 (potassium inwardly rectifying channel subfamily J member 6). RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
