    Summary
    Enables phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate binding activity and small GTPase binding activity. Involved in several processes, including cytoskeleton organization; cytoskeleton-dependent cytokinesis; and regulation of actin cytoskeleton organization. Located in several cellular components, including apical part of cell; cleavage furrow; and vesicle membrane. Part of protein-containing complex. Is active in M band and Z disc. Colocalizes with actin filament; apical plasma membrane; and cytoneme. Is expressed in several structures, including adult head; embryonic/larval neuromuscular junction; embryonic/larval salivary gland; epithelial tube; and gut section. Used to study autosomal dominant auditory neuropathy 1. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in autosomal dominant auditory neuropathy 1; autosomal dominant nonsyndromic deafness 1; primary ovarian insufficiency; primary ovarian insufficiency 2A; and sensorineural hearing loss.
