Regulator of G-protein signaling 22 (RGS22) was identified as a direct target of miR-1260b and was inhibited by miR-1260b. Knockdown of RGS22 increased proliferation of hepatocellular carcinoma cells.

The miR-1260b expression in CRC was significantly higher than the expression levels in the corresponding para-carcinoma tissues (P<0.001). According to the expression levels of miR-1260b, 120 cases of CRC patients were classified into either the miR-1260b high expression group or the miR-1260b low expression group.

Data suggest genistein exerts its anti-tumour effect via downregulation of miR-1260b that targeted sRRP1 and Smad4 genes in prostate cancer cells. Expression of sFRP1 and Smad4 was modulated via DNA methylation or histone modifications in PC.

Genistein downregulates onco-miR-1260b and upregulates sFRP1 and Smad4 via demethylation and histone modification in prostate cancer cells.
