Np65 KO mice display display enhanced anxiety-like behavior, a reduction in some aspects of depressive-like behaviors, and increased sociability and memory. Np65 KO mice show increased neurons proliferation, reduced 5-HT level and impaired long-term potentiation in the hippocampus.

Neuroplastin 65 modulates anxiety- and depression-like behavior likely through adult hippocampal neurogenesis and central 5-HT activity.

these results indicate that epilation induces McSCs activation through EDN3/EDNRB signaling and in turn leads to skin and hair hyperpigmentation. The findings suggest that EDN/EDNRB signaling may serve as a potential therapeutic target to promote repigmentation in hypopigmentation disorders.

The current study shows that neuroplastin, a member of the Ig superfamily, which has previously been linked to the regulation of synaptic plasticity, is critical to maintain a stable mechanical link of outer hair cells with the tectorial membrane.
