LRH-1-deficient adult mice fed high-fat diet displayed macrovesicular steatosis, liver injury, and glucose intolerance, all of which were reversed or improved by expressing wild-type human LRH-1. Results suggest that LRH-1 maintains the pool of arachidonoyl phospholipids, thus ensuring phospholipid diversity and normal lipid homeostasis in the adult liver.
