    Data show that protein kinase C-interacting cousin of thioredoxin (PICOT) alleviates myocardial I/R injury by regulating intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) and free iron levels, and suggest that PICOT presents a therapeutic strategy for myocardial I/R injury.
